Battlefield Artifacts Preserved

Dr. Matthew Compton, Director of the Laboratory of Archaeology, and Curator of the R M Bogan Archaeological Repository at Georgia Southern University has announced the completion of conservation efforts on the Brier Creek Battlefield artifacts recovered by Cypress Cultural Consultants in 2013-14. 

They hold all of the artifacts collected from the battlefield on behalf of the Georgia DNR Historic Sites and State Parks Division. More conservation work is being planned.

New Campground at Tuckahoe WMA

The Georgia DNR is set to complete a new campground at the Tuckahoe WMA in time for the annual Battle of Brier Creek memorial service in 2027.

Bring your RV, and Tommy Christopher will provide the firewood!

Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association received the 2026 Preserving America grant from Americana Corner to further our mission in preserving the Brier Creek battle site and continue educating our incredible community.
